Can AI be an effective coach?
Apps that integrate machine learning algorithms can track a triathlete’s running, cycling, and swimming metrics, then suggest personalised training regimens based on that data. This approach not only streamlines the training process but can also adapt plans as new performance data becomes available.
Basically, AI is good with numbers and algorithms, no surprises there.
That’s great, but there’s more to coaching and performance (at any level) than numbers.
Off Season
If you’ve had a longer season than normal, or have felt particularly drained by your final race or felt that you “under-performed” at your final race, you may need a slightly longer off season. It’s also important during your goal setting for the following season to consider how long your season will be next year. If you’re planning an ‘A’ race in the middle of the Summer, it may make sense to take a shorter off-season. If you’re planning on racing into this time next year, make sure to take plenty of time in your return to substantial training.
Should you Get a Coach?
Everyone has different reasons for taking part in sport, and within triathlon many of us have different goals to aim for, and desire different outcomes from participating in races throughout the year. While you might expect this article to be a bit biased, before we talk about some of the pros of investing in coaching, we want you to keep in mind that this isn’t for everyone.
